Aeroelastic Control

Aeroelastic control focuses on the active control of fluid-structure interactions. This is especially important for aerospace applications where energy and environmental cost motivate mass reductions resulting in more flexible and compliant aircraft. 

We focus primarily on a subset of aeroelastic control that is used for morphing wings.

Guidance and Navigation

Guidance and navigation are the general engineering area of determining the state of the vehicle and the next path it should take. 

Our research has a particular focus on payload directed flight, which is the determination of waypoint selection based on the payload of the vehicle, and navigation in GPS-denied environments.
